The Ivanois (Ivanhoe) is a novel by Sir Walter Scott. Written in 1819, and the action is placed in England in the 12th century. Regarded as the work increased the public interest in Romanticism and medievalism The synopsis refers to the time when the King of England Richard the Lionheart was the Holy Land by the crusaders and the throne of England had temporarily staged his half-brother John Lackland. In the conflict that ensues is tied, but eventually apokliromenos knight defeats one after another, all the Normans. The second day of racing, the conflict between apokliromenou knight and Norman is furious. The Normans, seeing how they will be defeated, break the rules.
